"Children are a heritage from the Lord," Psalm 127:3. 

Jesus welcomed children into His presence: "Let the children come to Me, and do not hinder them," Luke 18:16.  Metro East Kidz Zone is about welcoming our children to know the God who created them for His glory and went so far as to send His own Son to die for their sins.  "In this is love, not that we have loved God but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins," 1 John 4:10.  What a privilege it is to bring good news to the next generation.

Our hope is that the Biblical instruction provided through Sunday School, our Foundations Class, and other ministries will be a means to assist parents in their God-given task to bring up their children in the care and instruction of the Lord (Ephesians 6:4, Deuteronomy 6:1-7).  In this sense, the Children's Ministry serves a strictly supporting role to encourage and equip parents to disciple their children.

Sunday School 


  • Each Sunday morning from 9:30am - 10:30am
  • Kindergarten children are taught God's Word in individual classes each week, which meet in Rooms 222 & 224.
  • Children in K - 5th grades are taught God's Word using the Orange Curriculum.

    Christian Foundations For Kids

    The Foundations class will be offered to each grade level (Kindergarten through 5th grade) during the children's Sunday school hour. Classes will be six weeks long and are offered from the beginning of September to the end of May. The class will take them step-by-step through the basics of Christianity.

    Vacation Bible School  Each June, Metro East provides a fun week of Bible learning and outreach for all children who have completed Kindergarten thru 5th grade.  Childcare and activities are provided for children birth through Pre-K for those whose parent(s) are helping with VBS.

    We love and serve children in the name of Jesus Christ.   We are committed to providing a safe and loving environment, allowing us to teach children to love the Lord their God with all their hearts, souls, minds, and strength as they sit, walk, lie down and get up (Deuteronomy 6).  Everything we say and do is centered on the principles of God's Word.  We pray that children will come to know the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and rely on God throughout their lives.
