Our family visited Metro East a few years ago and felt right at home. I had grown up in a small Baptist church in Texas and enjoyed the "small town" feel that Metro provided. The easiest part for us was getting our children settled into a new church. The teachers and volunteers were very helpful on Sunday mornings, which allowed us to worship without worry. Our children benefited from a wonderful experience and from us growing in our faith, all at the same time.
Now, as the Preschool Ministry Coordinator, I help coordinate those teachers and volunteers, so am able to really make that Sunday morning experience positive for other families. Our precious preschoolers love coming to church and learning their Bible stories. They love their friends and adore the adults who so graciously give of their time and talents.
My favorite thing about Metro has been the authentic worship and the "family feel." The members volunteer, work together, support one another, and really step up to make things run smoothly. It is a group effort and people really invest in one another.
My hope for Metro East is that it continues to grow and reach out to non-believers in our community.
