Billy McDaniel

I'd love to share some details about my family and me. First, I'm married to Beth. We've been married for 16 years.  We have two lively boys - John Mark, 9 and Ford, 7. Those two keep the energy level rockin' at the McDaniel house. Beth is an accountant for municipality in Texas and she juggles almost everything we do - she's really an amazing woman! I'm the Associate Pastor for Church Ministries here at MEBC and I came here in October of 2011.  I am originally from Crockett, Texas and did my undergraduate work at East Texas Baptist University.  I got my master's degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas in 2000.

I am deeply interested in discipleship - I want to be true to the Great Commission which is focused on discipleship - so much of my ministry is oriented in that direction.  I believe that if we get the right things in order spiritually then the details begin to come together for us.  What that practically means is that we don't have to motivate a disciple - the Holy Spirit does that.  Discipleship is key to growing a church and growing a life.

I'm into hanging with my family, biking, little league sports, outdoor stuff, everything related to Apple devices, and working around our home in Wichita that God has blessed my family with.  I use Colossians 1:28-29 as the guiding principle for my life, "We proclaim Him, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone perfect in Christ.  To this end I labor, struggling with all His energy which so powerfully works in me."

I'm 40 and life is beginning to come into focus for me - funny how that happens when you get older!  You can find out more about me at Facebook, just click on the links below and you can follow me on Twitter, too.  In the meantime, come by my office and let's get acquainted!
