Eight Prayers

In Pastor Greg's first sermon on November 14, 2010, he spent a large part of his time sharing some of the ways he has been praying for Metro East.  He gave Eight Pastoral Prayers for Metro East.  These are things that have been on his heart for many years, but as of late have moved to the front of his attention.  The list he gave was by no means exhaustive, since we should pray about all things, at all times, but it at least puts us on the same page as we seek the Lord together.  The plan is to unpack these prayers one at a time here.

Prayer 1:  That God would make us more and more aware of His great love and mercy toward us.

Prayer 2:  That we would die to our particular preferences for how this church should look by asking God what He wants for us.

Prayer 3:  That we would not settle for satisfaction in anything but God Himself.

Prayer 4:  That we would be a community of believers that stick together at all costs.

Prayer 5:  That we would be a church that continually makes disciples who continually make disciples.

Prayer 6:  That we would keep a loose grip on the things of this world.

Prayer 7:  That we would always be burdened by people who are far from God.

Prayer 8:  That we would labor to fill the gap between our hearts and our minds.
